(1860 St. Pölten – 1917 ibid.) Portrait of a young artist in an artist’s costume, a characteristic and expressive depiction of a person that captivates the viewer. Stöhr worked as a painter, poet, and musician; in 1897, he was one of the founders of the Vienna Secession alongside Gustav Klimt, Koloman Moser, and Carl Moll. At the same time, he significantly influenced the journal "Ver Sacrum" and worked programmatically for the art group. Stöhr left the Secession, among other occasions, in 1902 for the important 14th exhibition (Beethoven Exhibition), for which he also wrote the foreword. Oil on paper, laid down on card. Signed in the upper left corner. Dimensions: 37 cm x 32 cm.
