

(1838 Draveil – 1904 Paris) Chamonix on Mont Blanc. A famous artist known for his uplifting views, landscapes, and marine paintings, he studied under, among others, Henri Durand-Brager and Eugène Isabey. Traveling with the French army and merchant fleet, he visited remote corners of the world. Since 1859, he regularly exhibited at the Paris Salon with motifs from northern France.
