(1852, Vienna – 1933, same place) Winter landscape with branch gatherers in a clearing near a stream. Evening atmosphere, deeply covered in snow, a wooded landscape with a rising half-moon. Thomassin moved to Munich in 1877, where he pursued both music and landscape painting. He was closely associated with the artists' colony in Dachau. His diverse, artistically high-quality, and picturesque work includes, in addition to Dutch motifs and various winter landscapes, predominantly scenes from Upper Bavaria and rural genre scenes, especially harvest scenes. Oil on canvas, relined; signed with location Munich. 62 cm x 99.5 cm. Framed.
