(1866 Zagreb - 1924 Vienna) Two friends, lightly dressed in spacious shawls, seem to have just finished a shared game of love. While one lady is still on the bed, the other is already standing before her, and the two friends exchange a meaningful glance. This is a characteristic work by Byron, who studied at the Vienna and Munich academies and is often mentioned alongside Aubrey Beardsley and Félicien Rops, defined by his carefree and provocative creations, dominated by the seductive image of women. The woman always plays the role of the dominant seductress, embodying the fashionable fin de siècle female image. In his decorated, playful, and compositionally outstanding works, characterized by virtuoso thin lines, Byron always conveys a pronounced sense of elegance and aesthetics, as well as satire and irony. Ink drawings on cardboard. Signed and numbered; 29 cm x 23.8 cm. Framed. Ink on cardboard. Signed.
