Description

Silver. A square plinth with a tubular stand, adorned with a floral shape surrounded by tongue-shaped fluting and a stylized laurel wreath. A smooth, cylindrical column decorated with a pearl frieze and strongly tapered with a pressed node. The top is adorned with a relief laurel garland with openwork. A detachable tulip with a recessed cornice, the edge of which is decorated with a pearl frieze ornament. Hallmark, trembling line, marks, preceding letter "G", master Johann Friedrich Wilhelm Cramer (became a master in 1781). Weight approximately 630 g. Height 23.5 cm. A rare pair of small Neo-Rococo candlesticks from Nuremberg, executed in the Neoclassical style, by master Johann Friedrich Wilhelm Cramer (master since 1781). Hallmark, fineness mark, master's mark, and maker's mark. German. Nuremberg. 1785-1789.
