Description

Silver. On four stylized, relief-plastically executed feet rests a round, almost flat plate with a smooth mirror surface, transitioning into a flower-like curved rim with a multiply profiled, gently curved edge. Authorship, tremulous stroke, marking, master Johann Conrad Lotter (master from 1738). Weight about 500 g. Height 1.6 cm. Diameter 28 cm. Alongside other works by the master in the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York or in the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam, a comparable form of a footed cup by Johann Conrad Lotter is located in the Bavarian National Museum, inv. no. 40/64.
