Description

A silver flat base transitions into an oval convex body with a lid-like attachment. The walls and lid are adorned with radially arranged, slightly twisted, smoothly curved lines. The interior is gilded. Author: master Georg Nikolaus I Birfreund (became a master in 1740). Weight approx. 100 g. Height 5.5 cm. Dimensions: 9.5 cm x 7.5 cm. See Catalog of the German National Museum, Volume I, Part 1, MZ 0065, BZ 39. A small Nuremberg Rococo sugar bowl by Georg Nikolaus I Birfreund (master from 1740). Gilded inside. Hallmarks: fineness mark, hallmark, and workshop mark. German, Nuremberg. Circa 1760.
