

A pair of Russian porcelain picture plates. Kuznetsov Manufactory, third quarter of the 19th century. The first plate depicts the Smolny Convent in St. Petersburg based on Charlemagne's motifs; the second shows a view of Moscow. Both plates are signed with gold Cyrillic initials in the lower right corner. The reverse of each features a blue factory mark, black numbers, and a gold inscription in English indicating the scene. Diameter: 22.2 cm. Belongs to a Russian collector.
