Description

A pair of Russian porcelain pictorial plates. Kuznetsov manufactory, third quarter of the 19th century. The first depicts the Smolny Convent in Saint Petersburg, inspired by Charlemagne; the second shows a view of Moscow. Both plates are signed with gold Cyrillic initials in the lower right corner. The reverse of each bears a blue factory mark, black numbers, and a gold inscription in English indicating the scene. Diameter: 22.2 cm. Belonging to a Russian collector.
