Description

LARGE RUSSIAN FAIENCE PLATE BY KUZNETSOV, CIRCA 1890. The surface is decorated with bright raised decor in the form of floral motifs and wheat, surrounding a stylized cartouche with raised gilded letters spelling out "bread and salt." The borders feature gilded inserts and other decorative elements. On the reverse side, there is a Russian-language stamp "M. S. Kuznetsov, 682," as well as a device for hanging on the back. Diameter 15.4 inches (39 cm).
