Description

A complete image of the nursing Mary (Maria lactans) on a mirror and on a rising banner, executed in polychrome painting by Leonardo da Vinci (today attributed to G. A. Boltraffio). On the banner, against the background of a pink berry, there is rich gold trim in stylized floral designs. Around the shin there is a decorative border stripe. Artist’s key; manufacturer’s mark. Diameter 25 cm. Russian porcelain plate depicting the "Madonna Litta". Artist’s signature; manufacturer’s mark. Russia. Moscow/Dulevo. M. S. Kuznetsov (Kuznetsov). Circa 1900.
