Description

The shape is round with a curved golden rim. The decoration is in the "Altozier" relief. In the slightly indented center, there is a bright colored decoration in the style of Chinese porcelain "famille verte," depicting stylized lotus ponds with flowers, surrounded by blooming peony branches, flying Ho-o birds (phoenixes), butterflies, and scattered flowers, framed by a wide brocaded border with large chrysanthemum flowers and colorful butterflies, surrounded by reserved frames. Polychrome painting in the Kakiemon style with enamel blue, iron-red, sea and moss green, as well as yellow and a slight shade of aubergine. Unknown; sword mark. Diameter 25 cm. Compare catalog, Hofmeister Collection, vol. I, number 134. Porcelain plate with "famille verte" decoration. Slightly worn. Crossed swords mark. Meissen. Circa 1740.
