A rare porcelain group of children in the form of an allegory of music
Description

Highly contrasting modeling, decorated with flowers and leaves, rocaille pedestal. A seated pair of children on a cushion with corded trim. A singing girl with a pearl necklace and a feathered headdress. A notebook lies on her lap. Next to her is a boy, partially wrapped in sea-green fabric. In her outstretched left hand, she holds a paper scroll. On the ground are a violin with a bow and a transverse flute. Polychrome painting with gilded elements. Possibly by Karl Christoph Punkt (active 1761–1765), associate of J. J. Kaendler. Minor restorations; mark of crossed swords. Height 20.5 cm. Rare porcelain group of children as an allegory of music.
