

Faience, sand-colored shards. Wide curved shape, freely turned by Wilfried Maas. Decorations in polychrome painting with female portraits inside and figurative images or scenes on the outside. Partial chipping of the glaze or rubbing along the rim. Each is signed "C.M. P. Schleime" with a monogram in ligature "WM" (Wilfried Mann) in a circle. Height 6.7 cm; diameter 11.5 cm - 11.8 cm. Schleime (born in 1953) is one of the most significant German artists of our time. In 1982, she was one of the first artists of the underground art scene in the GDR to paint ceramics in the legendary Wilfried Maas workshop in East Berlin, until September 1984 when she was able to leave the GDR and move to West Berlin.
