The core features a relief image of a panoramic view of the city of Velikiye Luki, with the coat of arms of Velikiye Luki at the top. The ring bears the inscriptions: at the top — 'ANCIENT TOWNS OF RUSSIA', at the bottom — 'VELIKIYE LUKI'.
Obverse
At the top — BANK OF RUSSIA, at the bottom — '2016'. On the left and right sides of the outer ring are images of a laurel branch and an oak branch respectively, the elements of which extend onto the core. In the center of the core are the number '10' and the inscription 'RUBLES' beneath it, denoting the coin's denomination. Inside the digit '0' there is a security feature in the form of the number '10' and the inscription 'RUB', visible at different angles to the plane of the coin. At the bottom of the core is the mint mark.
