The entire composition is framed by a beaded pattern. Around the circumference of the coin is the inscription FIRST ANNIVERSARY OF THE CONSTITUTION OF UKRAINE.

    In the central part of a circle formed of dots is an image of the small State Emblem of Ukraine framed by viburnum branches. Above the emblem is the date 1997 — the year of the coin's minting. Around the circumference are inscriptions: at the top UKRAINE, at the bottom in two lines 2 HRYVNIAS. The inscriptions are separated from each other by decorative marks.
