Reverse

Against the backdrop of Leipzig's architectural landmarks are silhouettes of people. Below the image is a two-line inscription in German: '1000 JAHRE LEIPZIG' (One Thousand Years of Leipzig). In the left part of the image is the artist's mark of Anne Karen Hentschel.

Obverse

Centered is a stylized state symbol of the Federal Republic of Germany: a heraldic eagle facing left. Below the eagle is the inscription '10 EURO', and below that the country name in two lines in German: 'BUNDESREPUBLIK DEUTSCHLAND'. In the upper part, along the rim, is the year of issue '2015', below it the Latin letter 'F' – the mint mark of the Stuttgart Mint, and at the bottom the fineness 'SILBER 625'. To the left and right along the edge are twelve stars of the European Union, six on each side.
