    In the central part, an inscription in three lines: ГРИВЕННИКЪ1718, indicating the denomination and year of minting. Above the inscription are 10 raised counting dots, arranged in two rows of five. The dots denote (duplicate) the coin's denomination. Under the date of issue is the letter L, the mintmaster's mark of Johann Luvis LANG (Иоганн Лювис ЛАНГ — in Russian interpretation Ivan LANG). Around the edge of the coin is a twisted dotted border.
  • Obverse
    The center of the obverse is occupied by the coat of arms of the Russian Empire — a double-headed eagle. Both heads of the eagle wear crowns, and a third, larger crown is between them. In its right claw, the eagle holds a scepter, and in its left, an orb. On the right claw of the eagle is the letter 'L'. The mintmaster's mark of Johann Luvis LANG (Иоганн Лювис ЛАНГ — in Russian interpretation Ivan LANG). The coin's rim consists of denticles.
