In the central part is the outline of Europe, overlaid with twelve outline five-pointed stars. Around the edge of the coin is an inscription in Lithuanian: «LIETUVOS PIRMININKAVIMAS EUROPOS SĄJUNGOS TARYBAI», which translates to: 'Lithuania – President of the Council of the European Union'.

In the central part is the stylized coat of arms of the Republic of Lithuania against a background of six outline five-pointed stars. Around the edge of the coin are inscriptions: on the left - the year of minting 2013; at the top and right the country name in Lithuanian: «LIETUVA»; on the right - the mint mark; at the bottom in Lithuanian: «1 LITAS» - 1 Litas.
