In the central part, against a background of paper sheets and plant branches, a frontal portrait of the poet Volodymyr Sosiura. Along the arc of the left and upper edge of the coin, his name in Ukrainian: «ВОЛОДИМИР СОСЮРА». To the right, the years of his life 1898-1965. Below the portrait, an inscription in Ukrainian: «Любіть Україну», translated: «Love Ukraine».

In the central part, within a circle of dots, the Coat of Arms of Ukraine framed by two branches with leaves and berries. Above the coat of arms, the year of minting 1998. Below the coat of arms, a semicircular two-line inscription: «2 ГРИВНI» - 2 hryvnias. In the upper part, along the arc of the coin's edge, separated on each side by an ornamental vignette, the country name in Ukrainian: «УКРАЇНА».
