The central part features four female athletes during a race. Above them is a four-line inscription in Ukrainian: «ЮНАЦЬКИЙ ЧЕМПIОНАТ СВIТУ З ЛЕГКОЇ АТЛЕТИКИ ДОНЕЦЬК 2013», which translates to: "World Youth Championships in Athletics. Donetsk 2013."
Obverse
The central part depicts the building of the Olympic Stadium in Donetsk, with a sculpture of a high jumper in front of it. Behind the sculpture are three curved stripes symbolizing the stadium's running track. Below the stadium is a two-line inscription in Ukrainian: «ОЛIМПIЙСКИЙ СТАДIОН м. ДОНЕЦЬК», which translates to: "Olympic Stadium in Donetsk." Below the base of the sculpture is the inscription: «2 ГРИВНI» - 2 Hryvnias. In the lower part, along the edge of the coin, is the mint mark of the Kyiv Mint. To the left, top, and right is an inscription in Ukrainian: «НАЦIОНАЛЬНИЙ БАНК УКРАЇНИ», which translates to: "National Bank of Ukraine." The inscription is divided by the Coat of Arms of Ukraine. Below the coat of arms is the year of mintage, 2013.
