In the central part, a cartouche containing a two-line inscription in German 'EIN PFENING' (One Pfennig), below it the mint year '1749∙', and beneath that the Latin letter 'W'. The edge of the coin features decorative raised denticles.
Obverse
Centered is the right-facing profile of Archduchess of Austria Maria Theresa Walburga Amalia Christina. Along the arc of the coin's edge is a Latin text: left and right 'M∙THER∙D∙G∙R∙I∙G∙H∙B∙R∙A∙AUS∙' (Maria Theresa, by the Grace of God, Roman Empress of Germany, Queen of Hungary, Bohemia, Archduchess of Austria). Denticles run along the rim.
