In the central part is depicted twice Hero of the Soviet Union, cosmonaut Volodymyr Serheiev. To his left is the 'Buran-Energia' space shuttle, to his right are his years of life in two lines: 1914-2009. To the left and below along the rim is his name in Ukrainian: 'VOLODYMYR SERHEIEV'.
Obverse
In the central part, against the background of a circuit board surface, is depicted the 'Mir' space orbital station. Below it is a two-line inscription: '2 HRYVNI' - 2 hryvnias. To the left, top, and right is an inscription in Ukrainian: 'NATIONAL BANK OF UKRAINE'. The inscription is divided by the Coat of Arms of Ukraine. To the left of the inscription is the mint mark of the Kyiv Mint, to the right is the year of issue 2014.
