In the central part, a portrait of V. Jurgutis - the first President of the Bank of Lithuania, facing front. Below the portrait is his facsimile signature. Along the upper edge of the coin, an inscription in Lithuanian from left to right: «LIETUVOS BANKUI IR LITUI 75», which translates to "75 Years of the Lithuanian Bank and the Litas".

In the central part, the coat of arms of the Republic of Lithuania. To the left, below, and to the right along the rim are inscriptions in Lithuanian: the country name «LIETUVA», «1 LITAS» - 1 litas, and the year of minting 1997.
