    In the central part, within a closed circular wreath, a two-line inscription in French at the top reads 'UN / DÉCIME', translating to 'one decime'. Below it is the date according to the revolutionary calendar 'L’AN 8.' – corresponding to 1799, with engravers' marks on the sides. At the bottom, the symbol 'K' – the mint mark for the Bordeaux mint.
  • Obverse
    Around the edge of the coin are decorative raised denticles. Along the rim are inscriptions in French, left 'REPUBLIQUE', right 'FRANÇAISE', translating to 'French Republic'. In the central part is a left-facing profile of Marianne. Below it is the signature of the artist Augustin Dupré, to the right of which is a raised element in the shape of a star.
