Reverse
In the upper part, along the edge of the coin, is the Spanish text: 'POPAYAN' - indicating the Popayán mint. In the central part, an inscription in Spanish: 'DOS REALES' - two reales, surrounded by an oak wreath tied with ribbons. On both sides of the numeral are small flower sprigs. Along the lower edge is the silver fineness indication: 'LEI 0,900'. The rim is decorated with dentils.
Obverse
To the right, top, and left is the Spanish inscription: 'CONFEDERACION GRANADINA', meaning 'Granadine Confederation'. In the central part is the depiction of the coat of arms of Colombia surrounded by a laurel wreath. In the lower part, along the edge of the coin, is the date 1862. The rim is decorated with dentils.
