    Along the upper rim, the country name in English 'TRINIDAD AND TOBAGO'. Below, the year of issue '1966'. The inscriptions are separated by raised dots. In the center, a large numeral 1 and the inscription 'CENT', meaning 'one cent'.

    In the center, the coat of arms of Trinidad and Tobago: the heraldic shield is supported by two birds, a Scarlet Ibis and a Rufous-vented Chachalaca; above the shield are a helmet, a ship's wheel, and a coconut palm. The upper part of the shield depicts two hummingbirds, the lower part — three sailing ships. On the motto ribbon is the inscription 'TOGETHER WE ASPIRE TOGETHER WE ACHIEVE', translated as 'Together we aspire, together we achieve'.
