In the central part is depicted the coat of arms of Trinidad and Tobago: a shield supported by two birds: a Scarlet Ibis on the left and a Rufous-vented Chachalaca on the right. To the left, above, and to the right along the rim is text in English: "REPUBLIC OF TRINIDAD AND TOBAGO". Below is the year of minting: "2002".
