    In the central part, a partial image of the Earth globe, with the territories of the European Union and Hungary highlighted, connected by a double-pylon bridge. At the bottom of the globe, the inscription 'ecu' (ECU) with five-pointed stars at the base of each letter. Eight more stars are placed along the edge of the globe, framing it in a circle. Below the word 'ecu' along the lower rim is the inscription 'MAGYARORSZAG' (Hungary). Along the upper rim in an arc: 'INTEGRACIO AZ EUROPAI KOZOSSEGBE', which translates from Hungarian as: 'Integration into the European Union'.

    In the central part, the coat of arms of the Third Hungarian Republic. To the left and right of it are the numbers 19 and 93, meaning the year 1993. In the upper part, along the rim of the coin in an arc, the text: '.MAGYAR COZTARSASAG.', which translates from Hungarian as Hungarian Republic. Below the coat of arms is the number 500, and below it along the rim the word 'FORINT' (500 forints). To the left of 500, the letters 'B.P.', indicating the Budapest Mint. To the right of 500 along the rim in smaller font is the word 'BOGNAR', the signature of engraver György Bognár.
