Reverse
In the central part of the reverse is a relief image of the Hungarian Parliament Building in Budapest, to the right of which is depicted the Euro sign framed by 12 stars. Below is the inscription "EURO". In the upper part, along the edge of the coin, is the text: "INTEGRACIO AZ EUROPAI UNIOBA", which translates from Hungarian as: "Integration into the European Union".
Obverse
In the central part is the coat of arms of the Third Hungarian Republic. To the left and right of it are the numbers 19 and 97, indicating the year of mintage 1997. Below is a two-line inscription 2000 Forint in Hungarian – 2000 "FORINT". To the left of the number 2000 are the letters "ВР.", the mintmark of the Budapest Mint, to the right is the inscription "BOGNAG", the engraver's mark of György Bognár. In the upper part, along the edge of the coin, is the text in Hungarian: Hungarian Republic - "MAGYAR COZTARSASAG".
