Reverse
In the central part is a lion with a sword in its paw against a sun background - the coat of arms of Iran. Above is a crown. Below is an inscription in Persian: "دوهزار دینار" - "TWO THOUSAND DINARS". Along the arc of the left edge of the coin is an olive branch, on the right is an oak branch. Decorative raised denticles are placed along the edges of the rim.
Obverse
In the central part is a three-line inscription in Persian: "شاه قاجار ناصر الدين السلطان", which translates as: "NASER AD-DIN SHAH QAJAR SULTAN". To the left and right along the rim are two olive branches, which cross at the bottom and are tied with a bow.
