The central part features a lion in front of a sun - the coat of arms of Iran. Below, the text in Persian is struck: "یک پهلوی" - "ONE PAHLAVI". Above is a crown. Along the left arc of the coin's edge is an olive branch, on the right an oak branch, which cross at the bottom and are tied with a bow. Decorative raised denticles are placed along the edges of the rim.
Obverse
The central part features the left-facing profile of Shah of Iran Mohammad Reza Pahlavi. In the upper part, along the arc of the coin's edge, is his name in Persian: "محمّدرضا شاه پهلوى شاهنشاه ايران". Below is the year: "۱۳۳۱" - 1331 AH (Iranian calendar) or 1952 AD (Gregorian). Decorative raised denticles are placed along the edges of the rim.
