In the central part is a lion in front of a sun - the coat of arms of Iran. Below it is the mint year: "۱۲۹۳" - 1293 AH (Iranian calendar) or 1876 AD (Gregorian). Above is a crown. Along the left arc of the coin is an olive branch, on the right an oak branch, which intersect in the center and are tied with a bow. Decorative raised denticles are placed along the rim edges.

In the central part is a three-line inscription in Persian: "شاه قاجار ناصر الدين السلطان" - "NASER AD-DIN SHAH QAJAR SULTAN". On the left is an olive branch, on the right an oak branch. Decorative raised denticles are placed along the rim edges.
