(1912 Königsberg / East Prussia - 1988 Wulfsdorf near Lübeck) Beautiful View is a late impressionistic cityscape painting by Malskats, who received his artistic education at the Art Academy in Königsberg. He gained fame through his frescoes painted in the Gothic style in the Schleswig Cathedral (1937/38) and in the Leipzig Marienkirche (1948-1951), as well as through forgeries of significant modern artists and watercolors in the style of Emil Nolde. The artwork is executed in gouache on paper, measuring 59.53 cm x 44 cm (excluding the passepartout cut). It is signed and dated (19)59. The artwork is framed.
