Born in 1937 in Klagenfurt am Wörthersee, residing in Krumpendorf am Wörthersee, this untitled associative composition by Krawagna is strongly reduced in form and color. Comparable to Julius Bissier's abstract works, Krawagna often employs sparingly calligraphic or figurative elements to express the inner or outer perception. Krawagna is a representative of the so-called "nature-abstraction" movement, which was established in the 1920s by Herbert Boeckl and aims to immediately translate impressions of light and color. Krawagna studied at the art school in Linz from 1953 to 1957, then at the Academy in Vienna until 1961, and finally at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris in 1963/64. This mixed media on canvas artwork measures 99.5 cm x 72.5 cm and is signed and dated (19)94.
