Trained at the Munich Academy since 1862, this painter dedicated himself primarily to Alpine landscapes, finding his motifs in Upper Bavaria, the Salzburg region, and the Salzkammergut, as well as in Tyrol. Since 1884, he lived for a longer period in Flintsbach am Inn in the Bavarian Pre-Alps before eventually returning to Munich. Oil on canvas. Signed and dated 1885. Restored, with minor losses of paint. Dimensions: 102.5 cm x 80.5 cm.
