In the style of Karl Fabergé, this piece is a Russian parcel gilt silver and gold egg. It is mounted on a wooden case. The assembly is made of yellow and red gold, as well as partially gilded silver. It features a cylindrical stand with a short, trumpet-shaped rising shaft. Above it is an ovoid, centrally hinged body in the form of a magnificently designed egg. The surface is covered in blood-red enameled waves and net-like guilloche on a well-formed ground. The stand and shaft are adorned with pearl bands and gadroon friezes, as well as stylized laurel branches. The body is decorated with lavish applications in the form of voluted foliage, crowned double eagles, flower calyxes, and palmette motifs, partly set with garnet cabochons and diamond roses. A fully sculpted double eagle, worked in a lattice-like, four-pass net ornament, serves as the knob. Inside, there is a naturalistically designed figure of an elephant, made of partially red enameled and gilded silver, adorned with color stone cabochons on a white enameled ground, surrounded by stylized blue flower bands. Measures approximately 88.56 grams. Height: 16.5 cm. This piece is from Russia, 20th century.
