A Lot of 2 Russian porcelain boxes, Gardner, late 19th century. Modeled as a chicken in her nest made in a wicker basket, the slip-on lid molded with the figure of a laying hen, the underside stamped with the iron red manufactory mark and with impressed numerals 944. Dimensions: 2 1/4 x 2 3/4 (5.7 x 7 cm). Condition: Small chip to the inner rim of the base. The other porcelain hen form covered bowl, M.S. Kuznetsov Factory in Tver, circa 1889-1900. The base modeled as a wicker basket filled with straw, the slip-on lid as a hen resting on eggs in a nest of straw. Dimensions: 6 3/4 h x 6 3/4 w x 5 3/8 d ( 17.1 x 17.1 x 13.6 cm).
