Today, two of the art world’s leading authorities, Artforum and ARTnews, unveiled the launch of the first ever Art Week NYC, set to take place November 11–14, 2026, in New York City. A full day of public programming, hosted jointly by the New Museum and Artforum, will spotlight artists, curators, writers, and other key voices discussing the forces shaping art and culture today. Additionally, ARTnews will host editor led gallery tours throughout each neighborhood and present conversations exploring the top issues driving the art world today. Art Week NYC will center around a dynamic Midtown hub programmed by ARTnews and Art in America, featuring sponsor activations and conversations with luminaries and leading figures from the art world and beyond. “We are thrilled to finally bring a dedicated Art Week to the city, focused on the galleries. New York City has long been a beacon of creativity and innovation and is home to an unparalleled ecosystem of galleries of all scales with an incredible breadth of expertise,” says Danielle McConnell, Publisher of Artforum. “We’re profoundly grateful to the galleries, museums, and cultural partners for opening their doors to welcome audiences into the spaces where art is best experienced. This week is a celebration of their commitment to keeping art at the center of our city’s cultural heartbeat.” “Art is more important to more people than ever before, and I’m excited to see Art Week activate the city and its cultural institutions,” said Sarah Douglas, Editor-in-Chief of ARTnews and Art in America. “Every day ARTnews and Art in America bring audiences news from and commentary on the global art world; Art Week will remind us that that world is, at its heart, about community.” “New York and its incredible institutions, like the New Museum, are offering something truly unprecedented,” says Luke Bahrenburg, President, Art and Luxury Group, Penske Media Corporation. “For one transformative week, we’re inviting art enthusiasts not just to view art but to engage with the ideas, creators, and communities shaping its future.
