In the late 1980s in the USSR, the youth TV program "Zebra" aired on Leningrad TV—its distinctive feature was that it showed three-minute clips from the film "Star Wars" with translation by Leonid Volodarsky. Initially, they showed 10-minute clips, but later copyright issues arose. The show's editors then wrote a letter to the film's director, George Lucas, asking for permission to show the saga to Soviet children in segments of whatever length he deemed appropriate. Lucas allowed them to show three minutes in each broadcast. Such clips were aired at the end of each episode before the credits for two years.
Sales: "Litfond" No. 41—36,000; No. 8—25,000 rubles.
