

(1665 Ravensburg - 1748 Munich) attributed; An Arcadian Italian landscape with figures, an atmospherically tuned painting in the style of Nicolaes Berchem and Jan Both, possibly depicting a scene in Bolzano, South Tyrol. Beich was a court painter in Munich for the Bavarian Elector Max II Emanuel, executing paintings for the Schleissheim and Nymphenburg palaces; from 1704 to 1714, Beich lived in Italy. Thanks to his Dutch and Italian influences, he was successful on both sides of the Alps. Oil on canvas, relined; 16 cm x 23 cm. Framed. Attributed to Franz Joachim Beich (1665-1748).
