On a stone step, artistically arranged, are grapevines with dark and yellow grapes, as well as a bouquet of yellow, pink, and apricot roses and multicolored chrysanthemums. Berries and rose petals are scattered on the ground. Carlier is today considered one of the most important Belgian still life painters. This highly praised artist was known for his mastery and unparalleled command of composition, with a special talent for creating harmonious, lush floral arrangements. Oil on canvas. Signed.
