

(1863 Düsseldorf – 1914 ibid.) An elegant Biedermeier couple in the park. This picture in the Jugendstil style, created by Polier around 1905–1914, captivates with its expressive lighting atmosphere. Polier studied under his father, landscape painter Hermann Polier the Elder, and studied painting from 1889 to 1895 under Peter Janssen at the Düsseldorf Art Academy. From 1890, Polier presented his paintings at the major Berlin Art Exhibition. In addition, Polier participated in significant exhibitions in Dresden, Munich, St. Louis (USA), and Vienna. Oil on canvas; signed and dated; 77 cm x 77 cm, in the original octagonal frame.
