Cubist composition in Budapest

(1877 Budapest - 1956 ibid.) Four horses with riders, flatly projected, cubist composition in contrasting colors. An exemplary work by Kádár, one of the most important Hungarian artists of the modern era, who studied under Ede Balló in Budapest from 1902. Kádár's artistically productive period in the avant-garde style took place from 1922 to 1932 in Berlin, where he exhibited from 1923 onward at the "Sturm" gallery. In addition to Cubism, Futurism, and Constructivism, he was particularly inspired by German Expressionism. Gouache on paper.
