(Born in 1926 in France) A reclining nude, resting on a suede-colored throw, sprawled across an elegant light blue, stain-dappled sofa beneath a windowsill, lies a young model with chestnut hair in a nearly full-bodied pose with closed eyes. Rendered in pastel tones and with a dynamic, broad stroke, this early work by Hervé, a member of the National Society of Fine Arts, is executed in a fragmentary manner. Oil on canvas; signed and dated; lower left with location Paris and the year 1946. The reverse is marked in French. Dimensions: 60 cm x 81 cm. Framed.
