

Born in 1951 in Heidelberg and currently residing in Neustadt an der Weinstraße, "Kopf orange" is an early work by Nagel from 1982. Nagel studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Hamburg from 1968 to 1971. From 1972 to 1981, he had a studio in Munich, and from 1981 to 1983 he was at the Künstlerhaus Hamburg. After various stays in Chicago, Jamaica, Polling, and Munich, he returned to the Rhine-Neckar region in 1997. The painting is executed in mixed media, most likely using dispersion paint on canvas. The dimensions of the work are 146 cm x 88.5 cm, and it is either framed or attached to a studio strip. The painting is signed, titled, and dated (1982) on the reverse side.
