

(1873 Berlin - 1943 Auschwitz Concentration Camp) This impressionistic landscape features hills with a blooming meadow. This early work, created in 1900, belongs to a Jewish artist whose legacy is mostly lost. Fuchs was a student of Franz Skarbina, Walter Leistikow, and Lovis Corinth; from 1918 to 1933 she participated in important art exhibitions in Berlin. In 1933 she emigrated to Paris, where she exhibited at the Salon d'Automne and was a member of the Freien Künstlerbund. Watercolor with discolored areas on paper mounted on cardboard.
