In the lower left corner is a small figure of Christ on a palm branch. Edelmann studied at the Hamburg State Art School under Erwin Krubeck, Willem Grimm, Ivo Hauptmann, and Werner Haftmann from 1948 to 1952. Since 1952, he has worked as an independent artist in Rahlstedt. From 1962, Edelmann received numerous commissions for church stained glass windows and bronzes in Hamburg churches.
