The name "Julio" was chosen in accordance with the song "Me and Julio in the school yard" by singer Paul Simon. The authentic vibe, liveliness, joy, and rhythm of the song made a deep impression on me ever since the song came out when I was 8 years old. When I came across the magnificent and perfect photograph by photographer Anthony Asael, showing these four happy children, it was clear to me exactly what I was going to do... Everything connected instantly. I knew what the painting would look like and which song would be playing in my studio while I painted it. The four main characters of the song: You, me, Julio, and Rosie, the red girl whose color is as red as a rose. 10% of all profits will be donated to the "Children's Art Project at All of Us."
