Description
The painting depicts a girl sitting on a parapet, holding a shell with a red pearl—the Pearl of Love. The Pearl of Love, as a talisman, is the precious child of a mollusk, a gemstone, perhaps an unfinished romance, shining with one of its finest facets. (Poem "Pearl of Love" by E. Ovrutskaya).
