Description

Silver. On four stylized, relief-plastically crafted feet rests a round, nearly flat plate with a smooth mirror surface, transitioning into a flower-shaped, curved flag with a multi-profiled, gently curving edge. Authorship, meticulous touch, hallmark, master Johann Conrad Lotter (master since 1738). Weight approximately 500 g. Height 1.6 cm. Diameter 28 cm. A comparable footed bowl by Johann Conrad Lotter is located in the Bavarian National Museum, inventory no. 40/64, alongside other works by the master in the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York or the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam.
